Galata Tower is known to be one of the oldest towers in the world. It is built in the period of Byzantium and like the Topkapi Palace, it is protected by UNESCO as a world heritage. A man called Hazerfan Celebi has put on wings, glided from Galata Kulesi  and landed to Uskudar Dogancilar. This is known as one of the first flying experiences.

In 1700, the tower was being used as a fire watch center but later in the period of Selim the 3rd, most of the building was burnt in a fire.

As the tower itself being high and also being located in a high location, it is a good place to watch the beautiful view of Istanbul in the day time and the lights Istanbul in the night time. Distance to Taxim Suites 2 km.
